Interns

Comox Valley Counselling provides the opportunity for learning therapists to grow in their clinical skills while completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology or Social Work. We also value the opportunity to provide clients with a low-cost support option. Our Master’s level counselling interns are directly supervised on an ongoing weekly basis by a Registered Clinical Counsellor and onsite clinical supervisor, as well as overseen by the Master’s level counselling program through their affiliated academic program.

Sessions with Counselling Interns are $60/ 50 minutes.

about Lisa

I have been working in holistic health care for over thirty years and am now embarking on the integration of this experience as a master’s student in counselling. I have a bachelor’s science degree from University of Victoria with a major in psychology and hold a doctorate in traditional Chinese medicine which I have been in practice with for 27 years (graduated in 1996).

I have always been curious and inspired by the resilience of humans and our ability to grow with our experiences. I value the messy moments in life and am passionate about normalizing our humanity with an open honest heart and when possible, a bit of humor.

I am deeply humanistic and my areas of interest as a student counsellor are grounded in client-centered care, trauma awareness, attachments, and resilience. I am a mother of three fabulous and unique humans and a long time partner to another. I have personal and professional experience with diversity, chronic pain, trauma, and addiction, grief and loss, women’s health, and I love to advocate for and support the people helping the people.
