Terri Czegledi, MA, MFT, RCC, Retired

I am deeply committed to my practice as a Marriage and Family Counsellor. My personal experience with the healing and transformative effects of psychotherapy was a catalyst to choosing this vocation. I believe passionately in the counselling process as a powerful tool in learning how to be more fully alive.
I have been in private practice in Courtenay since 2005. I have experience working with addiction issues, anxiety, phobias, low self-worth, chronic pain, depression, trauma and many other life challenges. I am able to help clients develop skills for effective communication and to alleviate the internal stress by means of anxiety reducing strategies and increased self-awareness.
I work with individuals, couples and families. I have expertise in a variety of counselling modalities. My preferred model is the Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy model which I have integrated with several other counselling approaches (such as EMDR, Solutions Focused, Brief Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy).

I love this profession and embrace the work and the people I meet with a sense of joy and privilege. I have the good fortune of having lived in the Comox Valley since 1981. My life is enriched by my partner of 33 years and my family; together we have three adult children, four grandchildren, a very loyal Black Lab Cross and a sweet little Shih Tzu emotional support therapy dog. I enjoy gardening, wilderness camping, everything outdoors and spending time with good friends.
