Registered Clinical Counsellor

I work with people to build lasting change, not simply feel better in the moment.

I have a warm, collaborative approach as we navigate the therapeutic journey together. Each session is tailored to your individual circumstances, priorities, and goals.

I will work with you to develop greater understanding, self-compassion, and practical skills that lead to long-term meaningful change that will be sustained well beyond the end of the counselling experience.

Experience:

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) 18 years of experience in private practice and rehabilitation consultancy. I came to the world of counselling after working as a registered physiotherapist; and over that time it became apparent to me that physical injuries, if not rapidly resolved, inevitably leads to emotional pain which often results in greater suffering than the original physical problem. As my fascination of the interweaving of physical/emotional pain continued to grow, I looked inward and came to an awareness that my greatest strength, and my greatest fulfillment came from caring for the emotional needs of individuals.

My Practice:

I work with individual adults + couples, offering in-person appointments as well as online appointments.

In my current clinical practice I use an integrated approach drawing from several treatment paradigms; specifically, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. I believe you do not need to be in ‘crisis’ to benefit from counselling. People seek support for many reasons, including anxiety, stress, depression, grief, relationship difficulties (couples therapy), chronic pain, significant life transitions; or simply feeling that something in their life is no longer working. By engaging in counselling you will find a private & supportive environment where you can better understand what you are experiencing and begin working towards meaningful, sustainable change.
