Carenda Hadaller
(MA MFT, RCC)

Inspired by Dr. Brené Brown throughout my own healing journey, my heart’s desire is to create a safe and compassionate space for individuals to explore and transform patterns of overwhelming anxiety, persistent stress, trauma-related distress, and the pain that can arise from broken, disconnected, or lost relationships.

I believe that throughout life, we encounter experiences and events that can feel too overwhelming to process or emotionally regulate. In response, the survival part of us develops protective strategies to help us cope with distressing emotions, confusing thoughts, and painful experiences. While these strategies may help us survive difficult moments, they can eventually become patterns that hinder healing, emotional growth, and connection with ourselves and others.

Using both traditional and holistic healing approaches, I work collaboratively with clients to nurture emotional well-being, cultivate inner strength and self-compassion, and support healing by helping clients reconnect with and accept all parts of themselves and their story. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences and move toward meaningful change.

Experience:

I am registered in British Columbia with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and have been supporting adults in spaces of growth and healing for over 7 years.

I completed a Master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy (MFT) through Alliant International University in San Diego. Throughout my career, I have remained passionate about helping individuals overcome patterns that interfere with connection, well-being, fulfillment, and heart-centred living.

Client Focus and Practice:

I primarily work with adult individuals experiencing anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, relationship wounds, grief, and stress-related challenges. My approach integrates both evidence-based and holistic practices tailored to each client’s unique experiences and goals.

I also support clients in developing mindfulness practices, emotional awareness, self-compassion, and somatic grounding skills to strengthen their connection to themselves and their bodies.

Types of therapy:

I primarily utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT & EFIT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness-Based Practices, and Somatic Grounding Techniques.

Challenges:

Anxiety, Burnout Recovery, Coping Skills, Depression, Emotional Regulation, Family of Origin Influences & Generational Trauma, Identity & Self-Esteem/Confidence, Life Transitions & Lifespan Shifts, Loneliness & Isolation, Loss & Grief, Past Abuse & Trauma, Relationship Attachment Wounds, Spirituality & Purpose, Stress Management, PTSD & Critical Incidents, and Unhelpful Life Patterns, including perfectionism, people pleasing, avoidance, shame, weak boundaries, and codependency

More than just my work:

Originally from sunny California, I now call Canada home with my husband and our two fur babies. Outside of counselling, I enjoy crocheting, yoga, walking in nature, rock climbing, swimming, tubing down the river, exploring new culinary experiences, reading fiction and non-fiction, and watching documentaries or mystery movies.
