I hold profound respect and trust in the human spirit’s ability to heal, and journey towards possibility and growth. As a counsellor, I see my role as being a compassionate guide and anchor along this journey, supporting the processes of self-discovery, transformation and healing.

Together we will establish a safe space for exploration, where curiosity and possibility are nurtured making way for insight and change. As you move towards your goals and the life you yearn for behaviour patterns, emotions, and beliefs which no longer serve you are gently released, creating deeper connections with yourself and those you love, and increased feelings of self-worth, life satisfaction and meaning.

I have over 10 years of experience successfully supporting individuals, couples and families through the challenges of anxiety, complex trauma, relationship dissatisfaction, grief and loss, depression, psychedelic therapy preparation and integration,  pre- and post-natal anxiety and depression, birth preparation, healing from traumatic birth experiences, and parenting concerns.

My approach draws upon several current therapeutic practices including Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy, Somatic Attachment Psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), TheraPsil Psilocybin Therapy, Expressive Play Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy, Trauma-Informed Yoga and Movement, and Reiki, which is a form of energy healing that may include touch. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and Bachelor Degrees in Sociology and Development Studies, and Child and Youth Care Counselling.

Along with traditional talk therapy, I use a holistic, integrated approach which emphasizes embracing the present moment. This may include exploring embodied experiences and emotions through collaborative, expressive activities such as mindfulness practices, movement, art, story, and nature therapy.

I thoroughly appreciate living in the beautiful Comox Valley with my husband, son and Border collie. We enjoy exploring all the gifts Mother Nature has given us here. When not counselling, I am out in nature, on a yoga mat, or dancing and embracing the natural rhythms of life.

Sarah helped us find clarity and direction when we felt lost.

Every time I would meet Sarah, I’d feel immediately at ease. She is an amazing listener, and would really hear what I said, even when it was hard for me to express it.

Sarah’s boundless empathy, humour and listening skills make her an incredibly rewarding counsellor.

Our work with Sarah helped us break through our walls and to love each other again, thank you!

I’m so grateful for the safety and genuine kindness Sarah offers, I felt so supported in working through the shame I’ve carried for years.

In Sarah, I found the kindest, generous, compassionate and caring spirit that allowed me to empty my pockets of emotional clutter, to dig deep and to journey to places I could not have accessed without her gentle and intuitive guidance.
